Privacy Policy
What we collect, cookies, analytics and affiliate cookies.
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit home.noviralane.com (TheCozyCorner), how it is used and the choices you have.
Who we are
TheCozyCorner is a home-decor ideas site. Website address: https://home.noviralane.com. Contact: [email protected].
Information we collect
- Server logs: like most websites, our hosting and security services record technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and time of visit. This is used to keep the site secure and working, and is kept only as long as needed.
- Emails and contact form messages: if you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message and use them only to reply. Contact form messages are also stored in our website database so they are not lost.
- Newsletter signups: if you join our email list, we store your email address, the date, the form you used and your IP address at signup and confirmation, as a record of your consent.
- Login security: a security plugin records IP addresses of failed login attempts to the admin area to block attacks.
We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and the site has no user accounts or comments for visitors.
Email newsletter
You can sign up for our free newsletter (and the Cozy Small Space Checklist) using the forms on this site. We use double opt-in: after you sign up, we email you a confirmation link, and you are only added to the list once you click it. We use your email address only to send the checklist, new ideas from the site and occasional related updates, about twice a month.
- Legal basis: your consent, which you give by signing up and confirming.
- Tool: the list is managed with the MailPoet plugin on our own website. Emails may be delivered through an email delivery service (such as MailPoet’s sending service), which processes your address only to deliver our emails.
- Unsubscribe: every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will remove you.
- Retention: we keep your details while you are subscribed. Unconfirmed signups and unsubscribed addresses are deleted periodically, except a minimal record needed to respect your unsubscribe request.
- Email statistics: our emails may use standard open and click tracking so we can see which ideas are useful.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site itself sets only the cookies needed for it to work: for example, a cookie that remembers that you dismissed or accepted our cookie notice (cookie_notice_accepted, kept for up to a year) and cookies for logged-in site administrators. Our newsletter forms remember that you signed up or closed the signup box using your browser’s local storage, not a cookie, and this never leaves your device. Third parties described below may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Analytics (Google Analytics via Site Kit)
We may use Google Analytics, connected through the Site Kit by Google plugin, to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can see how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Affiliate links and affiliate cookies
Some links on this site are affiliate links, including links to Amazon. When you click one, the retailer (for example Amazon) may place a cookie on your browser to record that you came from our site, so that we can earn a commission on qualifying purchases. We do not receive your name, address or payment details; we only see aggregated reports of clicks and sales. The retailer’s own privacy policy applies once you are on their site, for example the Amazon Privacy Notice. See also our Affiliate Disclosure.
Pinterest and other embedded content
Our “Save to Pinterest” buttons are simple links; Pinterest only receives information if you click one. Pinterest’s privacy policy then applies. We don’t embed social media scripts on our pages.
Service providers
The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services and delivered through Cloudflare, which may process IP addresses and technical data to provide security and performance (for example, blocking malicious traffic). These providers act on our behalf and under their own privacy and security terms.
How long we keep data
Emails and contact form messages are kept as long as needed to deal with your message, and contact form entries are deleted after 12 months at the latest. Newsletter data is kept as described above. Security logs and backups are kept for a limited time (site backups are kept for 7 days). Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings in Google Analytics.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California, or the DPDP Act in India), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The latest version will always be on this page.
