Cozy Corners & Nooks

Reading nooks, fairy-light corners and window seats: how to build one warm, inviting spot in any room.

About Cozy Corners & Nooks

Every home, even a studio, has a corner that could be the best seat in the house. This section is about finding it and finishing it properly. That means a comfortable seat at the right height, a light you can actually read by, somewhere to put down a mug and a soft layer for colder evenings. It doesn’t take a renovation or a lot of floor space. Many of the nooks we show fit in under a square meter, beside a window, at the end of a bed or inside a closet with the doors removed.

The guides cover layout first: how deep a nook should be, which direction the seat should face and how to keep it from blocking a walkway. Then they cover lighting layers and textiles, the two things that make a corner feel cozy rather than just furnished. Product suggestions are kept short and explained, and we always say what to measure before you buy.

If you only have time for one project this season, make it a corner. It’s small, affordable and the one you’ll use every day.
